The outer diameter ranges from 114.3 mm to 508 mm, while the wall thickness varies from 5.21 mm to 16.13 mm. According to API standards, the lengths are categorized into three ranges: R-1, R-2, and R-3, allowing flexibility depending on project requirements.


The casing pipes are further categorized based on their steel grades, which include J55, N80, P110, among others. A technical parameter sheet for API oil casing pipes typically includes dimensions, outer diameter, weight, wall thickness, connection type, and corresponding steel grades. For example, a 4-1/2 inch casing pipe weighs approximately 14.38 kg per meter and has a wall thickness of 5.21 mm.
